She is a charismatic songstress, multilingual singer, a captivating dancer, actress, model and a vibrant poet. Original in style and passionate in performance, Israeli born, Ofir Ronit Engel came from the small City of Nahariya in 2004 to Canada.

At the tender age of 7, Ofir was on her way to success winning a National Cartooning Competition, acting in plays, performing in the theater and in the school band. At the age of 12, she sang “Lu Yehee” in the Schools High Holiday Ceremony, which is an Israeli ballad which means - whatever you wish for will come! Not only her Mother, but the audience was mesmerized by her voice as Ofir delivered the song. At that point all who heard Ofir that day believed she had talent.

During the 90's, Ofir spent a few years in New York City. She studied professional acting at the Actors Studio and William Asper School of the Arts. Ofir had other training to develop her speech, vocals and dance. Also, Ofir won a Japanese American karaoke contest in Carnegie Hall and received a medallion. She was also, interviewed by TV stations in Japan. Following her success, she was spotted by a Japanese photographer who was mesmerized by her. Her images were displayed in galleries in Japan.

While in New York City, Ofir landed a few small roles and developed her own original sense of acting. Some of her acting credits while in New York included: James Gray, The Yards; Sex and The City; The Unfortuneteller - a sitcom funny comedy aired on MNN. It was this show which created a buzz to land Ofir a gig as Co-Host of two TV Shows. She spent her time interviewing some of the biggest names in show-biz including Hutch from Starsky and Hutch, the first playboy girl and Dr. Who.

As well, Ofir worked on several TV shows and films. She had the honor of working with the Israeli French Director Amos Gitai. Ofir landed an acting role on Amos Gitai’s movie “Haalila." Ofir also sang at the infamous celebrity club called “Stage” in Tel Aviv. She has a record number of successes in songwriting competitions on top of all her acting and singing achievements.

Ofir is a force to be reckoned, with successes in performances in acting, her roles on television, radio, film, stage and singing. Asked to explain her multitalented persona, Ofir says, “I am into the vibe of the universe…..I view life as a magical journey which allows me to create great moments, to touch hearts and to explore who I am and who we are.” Her music can only be described as a dramatic world dance with theatrical sense. It’s edgy, real, deep, with intellectual content, poetic lyrics with a bit of a futuristic slant.

Since her move to Canada in 2004, Ofir has already won an international acclaim as a Songwriter. The “Passion Show” was a finalist in the Pop and Dance Category at the Song of the Year Competition (Top 5) and the UK Songwriting Contest. These two international contests are judged by a jury of Grammy Award winners like André Fisher who has 40 Platinum/25 Gold albums, 3 Grammy Awards; Wayne Watson and more.

In 2005, it was her first attempt to produce a CD that left her devastated dealing with a local producer who promised her a lucrative future but never delivered even with his signature on the contract. In 2006, Ofir released her first CD which she produced on her own called “Poetry of the Brilliant Silence” followed by her success in a Poetry writing contest in 2003.

Starting from scratch and having a perseverant attitude, Ofir produced her own dream CD released in August 2007 titled "The Passion Show." "The Passion Show" has all her own original songs under her own Record Label - "Passion Show Records.” In June 2006, her song “It’s Awesome” achieved the Impressive Songwriters Award.

Ofir performed this song at the Ontario Independent Music Awards in Toronto at the Phoenix NightClub. “It’s Awesome” is currently now on radio and on demand all across the USA on 1200 website on Clearchannel. Ofir was also, nominated by Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards in 2007 for the Best Dance Song – “Task of Mind”. She is on CBC radio 3 with her song collections. Ofir has recorded her vocals for an election campaign.

Ofir reaches out to the community. She wrote and performed a song for a crime victim and their family at Aquuasearch in Texas. As well, she performed in front of Canadian government officials and delivered a speech about crime prevention. In addition, she performed at the National Council of Jewish Women’s Organization of Canada.


Ofir has many hobbies. She likes nature and animals. She enjoys traveling and the lure of flight.
She is many-sided. She is serious about her work yet loves to enjoy life. Ofir is very caring and empathetic and likes to give back.
